Rookies of the Month (June 2017)
In our new category of community spotlights, we take a closer look at promising and rising guilds that were able to overcome the first hurdles in the world of Albion. In our first selection, we take a closer look at the new player-friendly GoodFellas, the roleplay-tinted Rangers of Celidon, and the competitive-minded Iron bank. All of them have similar mindsets regarding what they want to offer their members, but their ways of approaching their goals is quite different from each other. Enjoy!
GoodFellas are the oldest guild of today’s three. Founded in early 2017, they try to balance in-game and real life for their members to make the most of their time, while maintaining the fun. Kutweer, the guild leader of GoodFellas, wants to give us more inside info on his international guild that aims to grow slow and steady into a closely-knit family, instead of mass-recruiting zerg guild.
When Kutweer created GoodFellas, he had a vision he wanted to achieve. His goal was to create a social and friendly atmosphere for all of his future members: “I always played Albion to have fun, relax, progress and most of all to make friends. Being with Albion for years now, I was part of many guilds but none of them had was I was looking for. So I decided to reflect my vision for the game for a larger part of Albion’s community.”
GoodFellas does not see themselves as an academy-like guild, despite them being open for everybody, including new players that are interested in their way of playing the game. “We want to be there for everybody in the community,” Kutweer states. “We are glad if we can help new players to excel themselves through our help and our experience!”
„Play the Game Your Way!”
Instead of focusing their manpower in a single area of the game, GoodFellas decided that they wanted to take on Albion in all aspects. This doesn’t mean that their members cannot specialize themselves, but there are no restrictions and no pressure from the guild leadership.
“Our most important philosophy is that we encourage our members to play the game their way,” Kutweer explains. “We all want to play and enjoy Albion and instead of obligations we want to provide our members a comfy and friendly home where they can savor all of Albion together.”

Rangers of Celidon
Created in May 2017, the Rangers of Celidon add a niche touch to their international guild with their flimsy layer of role play. Even while real life comes first for them, RangerDovefalcan, guild leader of Rangers of Celidon, ensures that their guild isn’t just an ordinary casual guild, but a guild with an ambitious mindset that welcomes any type of gamer.
Born From a Desire
“I desired to be a member of a guild that would remain trustworthy, disciplined and noble,” RangerDovefalcan starts about the creation of the Rangers of Celidon. “The guild views Albion from the perspective of their characters and the members see themselves as a brotherhood.”
While most of the guild’s members have their own families to take care of, the Rangers of Celidon want to stay competitive through efficient planning and their mature mindset. They try to be as self-sufficient as possible through gathering, crafting and dungeon parties. The guild are not going to roam around with the intention to randomly gank people, instead the Rangers are quite interested in actual and fair PvP and are always up for a challenge.
More Than Just a Guild
Everything the Rangers of Celidon are doing is based on three core principles:
1. They will provide protection for peaceful travelers within the lands of Celidon.
2. They will offer fair services, supplies, and sanctuary to their friends, allies, and the truly downtrodden.
3. They will maintain their honor and nobility through acts of mercy, even in times of war and in response to injustice.
“This is the purpose of our guild and all else must fall into those goals!” RangerDovefalcan expounds. To achieve those goals the Rangers of Celidon want to have a core group of 30 players to ensure that they have enough striking power to have an impact while staying small enough to live their daily lives as members of a brotherhood.
Their current goal, for the rest of the Beta, is to venture into the red zones to learn more about life and the hardships there. They do this to train themselves for the upcoming release of Albion. With the new experiences they get through their expedition they plan to establish an economic base that will allow them to move and survive in the black zones once the game is live.
RangerDovefalcan ends our interview with a statement for all of the Albion community: “We will not gank you, nor will be betray you, but if you come looking for a fight, you will find one!”

When Sharka, guild leader of Iron Bank, created his guild in April 2017 he had a plan. He wanted to create a competitive guild environment that would be able to support all kinds of players in order to be able to compete against the strongest guilds in Albion. Arguably the biggest difference between the newly founded guild and other well-known and already established guilds is their unique way of approaching the economic part of the game. For them, high taxes or a communistic system are outdated tools of the past that just stand in the way of real success.
Made to Last
“I’ve played Albion since Winter Alpha. Historically, guilds have focused on winning short testing phases instead of building healthy and sustainable guild systems. These actions have led to high rates of turnover and burnouts,” Sharka tells about his past experiences with Albion, before he continues about their countermeasures for that: “The large majority of our time in beta has been invested into guild design and development. Our vision is to become one of the most influential guilds in Albion. The Iron Bank specializes in diplomacy and economics. We strive to offer a structured and unique experience, unmatched by any other guild.”
Go For Gold
Given those ambitious words, one could think that the Iron Bank is a guild only looking for hardcore and competitive players, but the first look can be deceiving. Thanks to the guild’s infrastructure and the experience of its core, the Iron Bank is made to become a home for all kinds of gamers.
Sharka explains their reasoning behind that decision: “Albion is a behemoth that demands a loyal and diverse member-base to be successful. Our guild infrastructure supports casual, hardcore, and competitive players alike. The Iron Bank provides the organization and resources for everyone to reach their full potential in any content area they desire.”
“While many of our players are new to the game, our leadership consists of talented and experienced veterans. We assess each individual to develop and implement training programs tailored to their specific needs. Everyone has room for growth regardless of their skill level. We do not devalue inexperienced players. Each person has their own strengths and weaknesses and it is our job to unleash their hidden talents. ”
What The Iron Bank Is
In order to back their position and to allow their members to enjoy all of Albion’s content, the Iron Bank does not only spend their time with trading, crafting and gathering, but are also raising their own army to be able to battle with other guilds for dominance in the Outlands. To further support their ambitions, the Iron Bank plans to construct a powerful alliance around them that will allow them to support, manipulate or devastate other guilds and alliances at will.
They strive to achieve the same level of power of their role model, the Iron Bank of Braavos arguably the most powerful financial institution in the world of Game of Thrones.
