How do I start playing Albion Online?

1. Download Albion Online from: https://albiononline.com/en/download

2. Install the game

3. Create and activate your account

4. Login and verify your device

5. You can now create a character and start your journey in Albion Online!

Does the game cost anything to play?

No, Albion Online is entirely free to download and play. There is an optional Premium status, which can be purchased in both our web shop and ingame store. Premium status gives numerous progress bonuses, including a boost to Fame earned from all activities, 20 Learning Points per day, and 10,000 Focus Points per day. You can also buy Gold, the game's premium currency, in both the web shop and ingame store.

What can I do with Gold?

Gold is Albion Online’s premium currency, which can be bought with real money.

You can use Gold to:

  • Purchase Premium status for your character
  • Purchase and show off cool Vanity Items
  • Trade Gold for Silver with other players on a player driven marketplace

Which platforms is Albion Online available to play on?

Albion is available on Windows, OSX and Linux. You can already download the Android .apk, but full Android and iOS Support will be available at a later date, with integration into the Play Store and App Store respectively.

What should I do if account confirmation isn't working?

Sometimes, our account confirmation emails, which you need to use in order to fully "activate" your account and use our website properly, go awry and don't find the right people.

If you've just tried registering an account and haven't received your account confirmation email, the first thing we ask is that you check your Other/Spam folder (sorry, we have to ask this - you'd be surprised how often this is the solution!).

If you've checked your spam folder and still can't find your email, please try simply logging in with your new account details - sometimes, your account will already have been confirmed, with no need for interaction from you.

If that doesn't work, you can request a new confirmation email via this link: https://albiononline.com/en/register/resend

If all that is still not working and you cannot access your account at all, please email support@albiononline.com and we'll look into it further.

What if I can't remember or access the email address I used to register?

We cannot discuss accounts, or make any alterations to an account, without the express, explicit permission of the account owner.

This means that, if you've forgotten your account details and cannot contact us directly from your original account email address (or in very extreme cases, prove to us in other ways that you are the account owner), we cannot remind you of any account details or make any changes, and if you can't remember your account email address at all, there is very little we can do to help you and your account may be lost.

Please make sure that your account details are kept safe and secure and don't lose them. We hate to leave problems unsolved or questions unanswered, but the security of our player base and their account details is incredibly important to us, so we will likely not be able to assist you.

I can't login to my game client account, or my credentials are invalid. What can I do?

If the client or website is giving you an "invalid credentials" error message when you go to log in, it means that your email address and/or password are not correct. Please simply try to re-enter your details, remembering to check for upper/lower case letters.

Can you change my account email address / forum name / IGN?

Unfortunately, there is currently no option for us to change the details on an account.

What is Account Guard, and how does it work?

Account Guard is a server-side protection to help prevent the compromising of player accounts. Every time you log into the website or the game client from a new device or location, the Account Guard will ask you to enter a security code. This security code will be sent to the email address associated with your game account. Once you enter the code, your current location and device will be whitelisted for your account.

What should I do if I do not receive my security code?

First, make sure that you are checking the correct email address. Afterwards check the spam / junk folders of your email address.

Should you not receive an email after an hour, please try logging in again, as that generates a new security code and dispatches a new mail. Please refrain from trying too often too fast, as a high number of security code mails could lead to them being marked as spam or even blacklisted by your email provider.

If you are still unable to obtain your security code, please get in touch with support@albiononline.com from the address your game account is tied into, so we can investigate further.

2. REFERRAL REWARDS

How can I refer friends?

Very easily. Just send them your referral link which you can find at https://albiononline.com/en/profile/referral/overview. Note that you must have an account and be logged into the website to view your personalized referral page.

If your friends sign up after clicking your link, you will be registered as their referrer and you will earn rewards when your friend buys 30 days or more of Premium status for the first time.

Which items will I receive for referring friends?

Your very first referral ever will earn you a Recruiter’s Pile of Tomes, worth a significant amount of Fame.

Additionally, special seasonal reward items are given out for the 1st, 3rd and 5th qualifying referral per season. These rewards change with every referral season.

When will I receive my referral Gold reward?

Your referral Gold will be credited to your account 7 days after your friend has purchased 30 days or more of Premium for the first time.

How much Gold will I get for referring friends?

Every referred friend that buys 30 days or more of Premium for the first time will earn you 500 Gold, delivered to your account 7 days after their purchase.

Why are my referrals shown as "pending"?

If a referral is showing as "pending", the transaction has not yet been finally cleared. Due to the potential for chargebacks and cancellations, this clearance can take up to 7 business days.

If a referral is pending, it means that the referral has been successful, i.e. the referral was made correctly; our system is just waiting on confirmation that the transaction has cleared.

Why is there a countdown in my referral overview?

The countdown shows the remaining time in the current referral season. Each referral season usually lasts for a calendar month and all your referred friends that make their first Premium purchase of 30 days or more during this time count towards that season’s progress.

Every new season, there is another set of cool item rewards you can aim for. This applies on top of the Gold rewards you can earn.

I'm a new player. What resources are there for me to get started? 

There are several resources that help you find your way around Albion, both in and outside of the game. Within the game, the /help channel is a good place to ask specific questions. Outside of the game, there is our Guides section for guides on specific topics, a Wiki with a compilation of information, as well as a Beginner’s Questions Thread on the forum.

How can I stay up-to-date on the game?

How do I report non-game issues (problems with the website, forum, etc.)?

Sometimes issues of a technical nature occur outside of the game, like website or forum issues, or perhaps connectivity problems. Please report these issues to technical support: support@albiononline.com.

Our technical support team will address your concerns as quickly as possible.

There's a bug in the game. How do I report it?

You can report a bug in game by typing the following into your chat window: #bug “report”. You will get a confirmation that it has been transmitted to us and we will look into it.

The best way to submit a more detailed report is via our forums: https://forum.albiononline.com/index.php/Board/6-Bugs/.

Please make the report as concise yet as detailed as you can, including, if applicable:

  • The name and tier of the bugged weapon/building/item, etc.
  • The name of the bugged ability
  • Exact numerical values
  • Any sort of visual presentation of the bug - video or screenshot, if possible

Important note: Please make your bug reports as clear as possible. Reports such as “my sword isn’t doing enough damage” are not helpful, and slow down the QA team. Try something like “my T2 Broadsword autoattack should be doing X points of physical damage, but is only doing Y.”

How do I report cheats and exploits?

Please note that we take cheating and exploit-abuse very seriously, and our usual reaction is an immediate ban of the corresponding accounts.

You can help us in detecting cheats and improving our cheat prevention and detection.

Please observe the following process:

  • Do not make the exploits or cheats public. This will only encourage other players to try them out / use them as well.
  • Do not alert the alleged cheater that you are going to file a report! We have an internal tool that allows us to track alleged cheaters, thus collecting valuable evidence and also some background info on how the cheat/exploit actually works.
  • Do not start using the cheat/exploit yourself.

Please report cheats and persons you suspect of cheating through either our reports forum (which only employees of Sandbox Interactive can read) or by sending an email to support@albiononline.com. Please include the following information:

  • Character name of the alleged cheater
  • Short description of the cheat/exploit: how does it work, what does it do? Can you reproduce it? How?
  • Ideally link to a video showing the cheat/exploit in action

What languages does Albion Online support?

Albion Online is available in several languages: English, German, Russian, French, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. We are always keeping an eye on whether it is feasible to add additional languages.

We want our localization to be of the highest standard. Implementing and keeping a new language is up to date is a serious effort - and if we do it, we want to do it right.

Do Steam users play on the same servers as non-Steam players?

Yes, everyone who plays Albion Online on any platform plays on the same global server.

Can I play Albion Online on Steam with a pre-existing account?

Pre-existing Albion Online accounts that were created anywhere other than Steam are unfortunately not able to play through the Steam client. However, you can circumvent this by downloading the client from the website and manually adding it to Steam.

4. GENERAL/MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS

When did Albion Online release?

Albion Online officially launched on July 17, 2017. A launch on Steam followed in May 2018, and the game transitioned to a free-to-play title on April 10, 2019.

Will the server be wiped again?

No.

How can I suggest a feature / change for the game?

If you’d really like a particular feature/mechanic to be in the game, let us know in our feedback and suggestions forum section, and tell us why you think it would be a good fit!

Can I lose all items, even special rewards I receive?

All items in Albion Online, even limited, exclusive, and purchased items, follow the same rules. This means that items can be lost on death or destroyed by wear and tear. However, just as with any other item in the game, they can also be repaired. Store them somewhere safe if you don't want to lose them!

You’ll receive a warning when you retrieve rewards for the first time suggesting you get them to a safe place as soon as possible. There are many places at which you can store your items safely throughout the world. As with all full-loot games, the mantra is simple: don't wear what you can't afford to lose!
