The following information does not constitute terms and conditions regarding the Game “Albion Online“. The only applicable terms and conditions for the Game, the Apps, the Game Shop and the Website are Sandbox Interactive‘s Terms and Conditions accessible here.

General Description of the Service 

Sandbox Interactive GmbH, Pappelallee 78, 10437 Berlin, Germany (“Sandbox Interactive“, “We” or “Us”) operates an online game and a gaming portal called Albion Online. This gaming portal consists of the website AlbionOnline.com ("Website") and a massively multiplayer online role playing game ("Albion Online" or “Game”). On our Website we offer a broad range of information about our Game including an online community for the Users (“Community”) which offers registered users (“Users”) for example the possibility of creating a profile page, participating in forums, uploading media such as photographs, texts and participating in online game tournaments or other services ("Services"). Sandbox Interactive also operates the Game Shop accessible via the Game or the Website (“Game Shop”). 
 
Sandbox Interactive offers, via the Game Shop and subject to a charge, further additional Virtual Benefits to be used in the Game. The Virtual Benefits are available after the Users have made their payment. Most Virtual Benefits, subject to availability, can also be obtained in-game, through gameplay or the use of Virtual Currency. 
 
Virtual Benefits acquired from the Game Shop for real money can only be used in the Game and, as a rule, only after the Users have expressed their consent and have acknowledged, prior to the purchase, that they lose their right of withdrawal.

Language

The Agreement may be concluded in English. 

Store and View the Terms and Conditions 

Users may view the Terms and Conditions in the current version on the Website and print or store them with the help of their browser (usually “File” -> “Print” resp. “Save”). 
 
If Users acquire Virtual Benefits in exchange for real money, Sandbox Interactive will send confirmation of the Users’ purchase via email enabling them to retain the details of their purchase. In addition to the details of the purchase, this email will contain the Terms and Conditions and may be printed or stored within the email program.

Conclusion of Contract and Account

Users need to register and set up a user account for the Game („User Account”). For the general legal conclusion of contracts please see Section 9 of the Terms and Conditions where we provide additional information to Users.

How to register and set up a User Account and User Profile: 

  • There are three ways to set up a User Account
  • 1) The User can click the “register” button on the Website, enter his valid email address, choose a password and then click the “Register Account” button
  • 2) The User can enter his valid email address when making a purchase in the Game Shop located on the Website. If there is no User Account associated with that email address, a User Account will automatically be created once the User makes the payment after having clicked the “Buy Now” button.  
  • 3) The User can download the Game Client, start Game Client, click the “Create a new account” button, enter a valid email address, choose a password and then click the “Create a new account” button again. 
  • In all of the above cases, an automatically generated confirmation email is then sent to the email address the User provided.
  • Sandbox Interactive reserves the right to include a hyperlink to activate the User Account in the confirmation email sent to Users. 
  • By accepting the first login or making a sale to the User, Sandbox Interactive accepts the Users’ offer to conclude an agreement regarding the Game and the User Account is set up. 
 

Game Shop: Acquisition of Virtual Benefits 

Virtual Benefits can be acquired for real money in the Game Shop. For the acquisition of Virtual Benefits for real money please see Section 9 of the Terms and Conditions. For the details and usage of Virtual Benefits see section 4 of the Terms and Conditions.  

Details:

First of all Users choose the number of Virtual Benefits (as available) they want to acquire. The presentation in the Game Shop serves as reference for the Users and does not constitute a binding offer by Sandbox Interactive. 
 
To continue the Users have to confirm their selection, choose a payment method and finalize the purchase. Until the purchase is finalized Users may at any time correct, change or void their choice. 
 
In the next step the Users are shown a preview of their order, detailing
 
a) the type and amount of Virtual Benefits they chose to acquire,
b) the total sum payable including all elements relating to the price and all taxes paid or, if it is not possible to state the exact price, the basis of the calculation enabling Users to verify the price,
c) any additional costs for delivery and shipping and possible further taxes or costs not paid or invoiced via Sandbox Interactive.
 
In order to acquire Virtual Benefits Users also need to choose the means or method of payment. Generally these means or methods of payments are available, although they might differ between different regions of the world, in particular if payment is made via a third party App store

 Instant transfer
 
To confirm their selection the Users have to click the button labeled “BUY NOW” with [the selected payment method] located next to the confirmation that they accept the Terms and Conditions, request the immediate performance of the contract and agree that they thereby (when being credited or make use of the Virtual Benefits) lose their right of withdrawal from the contract.
 
In the event the payment is designated to be made via the website of the payment provider (i.e. Paypal) the Users are re-directed to the website of the provider chosen by the Users. There Users need to enter all data necessary for payment (i.e. number of the credit card, PIN etc.). After clicking the confirmation button the payment is made. However, the User is offering his conclusion of the agreement already with clicking the Button “Buy Now” before being redirected to the website of the payment provider. 
 
Sandbox Interactive accepts the offer to conclude a contract by an on-screen confirmation and a confirmation email including all necessary consumer information sent to the address provided by the Users whereby both parties confirm the acceptance of the offer. 
 
Before being able to use the acquired Virtual Benefits Users need to log in to the Game again.

Premium Status Subscription

Users may conclude a Premium Status Subscription on their User Account in exchange for real money. The Premium Status awards certain benefits to a single Game Character for a specific amount of time. A Premium Status Subscription can be purchased in the Game Shop in exchange for real money. For this, the User chooses the amount of Premium Time he wants to purchase and the Character to which it should be credited. All Premium Time acquired this way is paid up-front. The Premium Status will automatically renew 3 days before the Character runs out of Premium Time and the user will be charged the same amount of the initial Premium Time purchase via the same payment method. Premium can be cancelled by the Users giving 5 business days’ notice. Details about Premium Status Subscription can be found in the Terms and Conditions, in particular in chapters 4.4.1, 8.2, 9.2 and 14.3.
 
We may offer Users the possibility to acquire Premium Status without paying real money, for example, by the use of Virtual Currency. Premium Status obtained this way does not conclude a Subscription. 

Termination

This agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time (during the time Sandbox Interactive provides this Game) and ends with its termination. Termination notices must be given in text form (email will suffice). Details about the Termination can be found in section § 14 of the Terms and Conditions.

Right of Withdrawal

Special Notice: You immediately lose your right of withdrawal once we have fulfilled our contract by crediting your Account with the selected product on your request.

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory.
 
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
 
Effects of withdrawal
 
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
